From the Maasai Mara to the Serengeti. From Lake Victoria to Ngorongoro Crater – this 8-day, 7-night safari adventure will delight you with a range of wildlife, scenery and landscape that is unparalleled.
Prepare to witness astounding numbers of wildlife displaying their colors, diversity and beauty as they always have on these ancient lands. And the land itself will enchant with its vast spaces, endless stretch of lakes and dramatic volcanic terrain.
It’s all here in Kenya and neighboring Tanzania – 5 striking habitats – all awaiting your discovery.
Starting at either your hotel or at the airport, we’ll safari off to the world-famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The reserve, Kenya’s finest, is spectacular with its dense and diverse big game. Buckle up for unlimited game drives during your several days stay here.
Optional extras that will add to your Mara experience is a visit to a Maasai village and a hot air balloon ride over the beautiful reserve.
After the safari dust of the Mara, you’ll next be crossing into Tanzania and headed for the cool blue shores of Lake Victoria. Spend a relaxing evening, savoring gentle breezes wafting off Africa’s largest lake. You’ll enjoy visiting a local fishing village, learning about the lifestyle here and its people.
From Victoria it’s a moderate drive to Serengeti National Park. Delve into Olduvai Gorge, earliest site of humankind. The fossils found here date back 2 million years. Everything about Serengeti is deep, rich and ancient. The massive grasslands are home to millions of wildlife – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo and uncounted wildebeest and zebra.
You’ll also be on the lookout for dozens of species of smaller game such as cheetah, gazelle, impala and hyena.
Then we’ll descend to the most unique feature of the park – the Ngorongoro Crater. The extinct volcanic caldera is the largest of its kind in the world. On the crater floor you’ll find an astonishing, self-contained world. Tens of thousands of large animals inhabit this eco-system – rhino, buffalo, hippo, zebra and a dense population of lions.
The day will end with a flourish as we ascend back up the crater’s rim and witness an unforgettable sunset. And then again, the next morning you’ll be dazzled by the sunrise coming over the opposite side of the crater. A display worthy of this magnificent park.
Our last stop on this 8-day adventure is Tarangire National Park This is a small but beautiful park featuring great stands of imposing baobab trees. But there’s also plenty of lion, elephant and zebra to enjoy here.

From Nairobi to Nairobi, Kenya (safari can also start from Arusha)
Starts Nairobi/Ends Nairobi – We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Travel comfortably in your own pop up top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep. Switch in Tanzania to a private pop up top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep.
Tree climbing lions. Limitless pink flamingos. A magnificent volcanic crater. The largest lake in Africa. An unending savannah. The great migration. This safari adventure has so much to see and experience, the memories will last you a lifetime.
For 9 days you will explore the finest parks of Tanzania and Kenya, touching vivid landscapes filled with millions of wild animals. The drama of East Africa will greet you each morning with a dazzling sunrise beginning your daily adventure.
Departing Nairobi, we head for the Tanzania border. On the way, you’ll take in views of towering Mt. Kilimanjaro, the largest summit in Africa. This is Maasai country and you’ll view farms and plantations on this first leg of your journey.
Our first stop is Lake Manyara National Park – home to the famous tree climbing lions. Just as famous is the sea of fluttering pink flamingos you’ll find here. And you can’t miss the herds of elephants among the many creatures inhabiting this small but beautiful park.
Then it’s a short drive to the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet – Ngorongoro Crater. Three million years ago a large volcano exploded here. What remained was the crater floor – 610 m deep and 260 square km or 100 square miles in area. This is where we will descend to discover unsurpassed game viewing in a special world unto itself.
Here you’ll discover the highest density of lions and predators in Africa. View rhino, buffalo, hippo, wildebeest and much more wildlife. Later, up at the crater rim get ready to enjoy one of its signature brilliant sunsets.
Traveling through the Serengeti we explore Olduvai Gorge, earliest site of humankind. Within this steep ravine the ancient rock formations have left clues as to our ancestors’ lives and development. Here you can literally touch history.
And now we arrive at the picture-perfect vastness of Serengeti National Park. The park is so massive it practically enfolds you into its immense rolling plain. Everything about the Serengeti is big – a million plus herd of wildebeest, 250,000 zebras plus lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo and thousands of smaller game like jackal, hyena and wolf. And if all that weren’t enough, be on the lookout for the olive baboon, velvet monkey and black and white colobus.
In a relaxing contrast to the intensity of Serengeti, we next head for scenic Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the world’s second largest freshwater lake. You can take a breather on Victoria’s historic shores, and should you desire, visit the local market near the small town of Bunda. We’ll also tour a fishing village to learn about the local lifestyle along this great lake.
Crossing back into Kenya you’ll be immersed in the beauty of the great Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Mara is world-famous and the quintessential picture of Africa. This is a deeply rich eco-system blessed with a distinct variety of animal life. Here, you’ll be looking for Africa’s Big Five predators, along with dozens of other species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River where you’ll dine and view the hippos and crocodiles as they dine.
You’ll also have opportunities for several optional activities such as guided nature walks, balloon safari rides and a chance to visit with the Maasai people in their village.
All-Inclusive. Your 9-Day Variety Safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations and meals. Shalom Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

A Tour offering Huge Variety
Kenya or Tanzania? Which to visit? Choose both on this exciting 10-day safari to the best national parks on both sides of the border. You’ll visit gems like Tarangire Park and Lake Nakuru with its population of rare Rothschild’s giraffes.
Then there’s the spectacle of Maasai Mara and neighboring Serengeti parks with their infinite wildlife migration – the largest on the planet. Ngorongoro Crater features a world-famous volcano floor hosting its own world of highly concentrated wildlife.
And Amboseli Park is so dense with elephant life you are guaranteed multiple sightings. This is a well-balanced tour spending equal time in both countries. You’ll be able to say you’ve seen and experienced the best of Kenya and Tanzania.
What Parks Does This Tour Visit?
Lake Nakuru National Park
Your 10-day safari begins in Nairobi and takes an easy drive through the Rift Valley escarpment and its dramatic landforms. We’ll stop along the way to admire the towering ridges and cliff formations. We’ll also pass other nearby lakes Naivasha and Elementaita on our way to Lake Nakuru National Park.
This is a beautiful park adorned with acacia forest and home to black and white rhino. You can also spot lions, leopards and hippopotamuses. Season and weather permitting you’ll be treated to flocks of pink flamingos blanketing the lake.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Then it’s off to the king of Kenya parks, the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara never fails to impress with its intense concentration of big game wildlife. And during the migration season those numbers of animals significantly increase into the millions. Waves of zebra, wildebeest and eland cross the Mara River creating a spectacle you’ll never forget.
Serengeti National Park
We’ll next cross into Tanzania and delve into bordering Serengeti National Park. The great treeless savannahs here roll out past the horizon. It’s believed the Serengeti hosts the largest population of lions in Africa – reportedly more than 3,000 in this ecosystem alone. During your game drives you’ll also be on the lookout for leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.
Besides those Big Five predators, your day will be filled with possible sightings of cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thompson’s gazelle, eland, impala, hippo and the irrepressible warthog.
Ngorongoro Crater
We next travel to one of the most special landforms anywhere, the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the world’s largest dormant, intact volcanic caldera. Descending its walls to the crater floor will bring you to a special place of intense wildlife concentration. There are many prides of lions here as well as other big game – rhino, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hippo, cheetah and more.
As if your day couldn’t get any better, we’ll head back up to catch Africa’s most dazzling sunset at the crater rim.
Tarangire National Park
Now it’s a short drive to a very special smaller wildlife preserve, Tarangire National Park, home to hundreds of species of birdlife, magnificent towering baobab trees and great herds of elephants. Even the large termite mounds dotting the landscape impress in this unique natural habitat.
Amboseli National Park
The next day we cross back into Kenya and visit our final destination, Amboseli National Park. Elephants abound here but also prepare to see lion, cheetah, wildebeest, gazelle, monkeys and lots of birdlife.
The park also features Africa’s best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In the mornings and early evenings when the clouds clear you may get postcard views of the snow-capped summit of the highest peak on the continent.
Then, it’s a moderate drive back to Nairobi and safari’s end.

This tour will take you to such world-famous sites as the great Serengeti, the Maasai Mara and the unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater. There you’ll be immersed in displays of wildlife that will bring you up close to a new kind of reality.
Other parks on your journey such as Lake Manyara and Amboseli offer incredible displays of bird species and close herds of elephants that you’ll experience nowhere else. You’re going to see so much on this 11-day Shalom Safaris you’ll want to start planning now.
Our journey begins in Tanzania at a unique reserve, Lake Manyara National Park. Everything is a bit special here. Not only is there exceptional birdlife such as egret, spoonbill and heron, but you’ll be treated to a great pink sea of dazzling flamingos!
Even the lions here aren’t ordinary. This park features tree-climbing lions. Throw in elephants, giraffes, zebras and a huge troop of baboons… and your safari is off to a grand start.
Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. It’s our next stop as we head down to the crater floor to find the highest density of lion and predators in Africa. This 260 square kilometers (100 sq. miles) habitat also hosts rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, eland and many other species.
Moving on to the Serengeti we explore the steep-sided ravine of Olduvai Gorge. You may have heard of this site, where humankind is said to have originated. Great finds of fossilized remains testify to man’s early development here dating back 2 million years.
Moving on in this ancient land we come upon the sweeping grasslands of Serengeti National Park. This is where the greatest animal migration on the planet begins. Close to 2 million wildebeests, zebras and others begin their annual trek across Africa’s plains. Everything here is vast, dense and seriously impressive.
We’ll next follow the path of that great migration back into Kenya and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara is also home to the Big Five as well as dozens of other species. Known for its splendid landscapes of flat-topped acacia trees this park also features the Mara River where you’ll picnic near the company of hippo and crocodile.
Our next park rises in contrast to the great plains of the Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park shows off its towering rocky escarpments in dramatic form. This park will leave lasting memories with its pockets of acacia forest and black and white rhino, lion, leopard and even more pink flamingos.
We’ll continue to another Rift Valley lake and embark on a water safari at Lake Naivasha National Park. Here we’ll glide past hippo and view giraffes, zebras and the extensive birdlife.
On the way to Amboseli National Park, we’ll stop to view the striking outcroppings of the Rift Valley escarpment and then lunch at a famous Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi. You’re pretty much guaranteed to see a surplus of elephants at Amboseli Park. But there’s also lion, cheetah and hyena… and over 370 species of birds. And there’s a good chance of viewing the snow-capped summit of Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Finally, we proceed to our last destination, Tsavo West National Park. The landscape at Tsavo is rugged and has the feeling of the wilderness about it. We’ll visit the natural springs here where wildlife gathers and we’ll enjoy a box lunch while viewing hippo, crocodile, fish and birdlife.
From here you’ll either head to Nairobi or the Kenya coast depending on your holiday plans.
All-Inclusive. Your 11-day safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations and meals. Shalom Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

13 Days Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Maasai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Amboseli
From / to Nairobi, Kenya
Starts Nairobi/Ends Nairobi – We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Travel comfortably in your own pop up top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep. Switch in Tanzania to a private pop up top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser jeep.
You will see, feel and learn so much about Africa’s wildlife, land and culture in this very complete 13-day safari adventure. We will explore 8 of Kenya’s and Tanzania’s finest parks, with their stunning diversity of vistas and animals – beautiful lakes, towering cliffs, sweeping grasslands and the multitude of wild game filling these panoramas.
Tanzania will be no less spectacular with its vast Serengeti plains, hosting wildlife in the millions. The great Ngorongoro Crater is the most spectacular volcanic caldera in the world. Its sunrises and sunsets at the crater rim burst with colour. This is the best of Africa and Shalom Safaris is ready to share it with you!
13 days will provide you with plenty of time to absorb the many parks and reserves of our safari, so the pace will be relaxed but thorough. We start off in the north of Kenya at Samburu National Reserve with its rugged, pristine landscape. Most of our game viewing will be along the Ewaso Ng’iro River with its life nourishing waters. The game here is varied with notably lion, cheetah and leopard taking top billing along with gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe.
If you wish you can also explore the nearby Shaba and Buffalo Springs Reserves. Then the temperature cools off as we move on to the Mt. Kenya/Laikipia region, arriving at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Conservancy hosts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Don’t miss the Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary also located here. It’s home to orphaned and rescued chimps – the only place in Kenya where you can see them.
We moved on to the Rift Valley lake country with a visit to Lake Nakuru National Park. This beautiful park features dramatic escarpments and acacia forest. The lake itself shows off stunning pink flamingos that gather here. At the shore you’ll take in waterbuck, zebra, gazelle and buffalo. The park is also famous for its population of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.
There’s wonderful bird watching at nearby Lake Naivasha National Park. We’ll take a water safari here and then a guided walking safari at nearby Crescent Island to view grazing giraffes, zebras, impala and a myriad of bird species. And how about a bicycle safari? We’ll take an afternoon hike at Hell’s Gate National Park and if you wish you can even bicycle past the wildlife along the way.
Then we travel to Kenya’s most famous wildlife habitat – the Maasai Mara Game Reserve – home to the big cats and its significant population of lion. The Mara is a majestic habitat and you’ll be on the lookout for leopard, cheetah plus large herds of elephant and buffalo.
The Mara is also home to the great migration of wildebeest and zebra pouring in from the Serengeti, crossing the Mara River. There, the drama is all about the animals crossing the river and the crocodiles awaiting them. If you wish you can partake in an optional guided nature walk and a visit to a Maasai village to meet these herdsmen and learn about their lives.
We now cross the border into Tanzania and Serengeti National Park, the lands from which the great migration begins. The endless grasslands of the Serengeti boast millions of wildlife, especially wildebeest and zebra. But the Big Five are here, as well as gazelle, impala, hartebeest and cheetah.
A not-to-be-missed feature of the Serengeti is the World Heritage Site of Ngorongoro Crater. This is the world’s largest fully intact volcanic caldera. From the crater’s rim you will marvel at the most awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets. But even more impressive, traveling down to the crater floor you’ll enter a world of intense wildlife. Here you’ll be amongst the highest density of lions and predators in Africa! But not to worry, they’ll keep their distance plus your experienced guide knows his way around this amazing ecosystem.
Our next Tanzania park is smaller but contains its own colourful drama. Lake Manyara National Park hosts millions of vibrant flamingos and other bird life. The park also features great herds of elephants and the very unique tree climbing lion.
Now it’s time to cross back into Kenya and pay a visit to our final animal habitat, Amboseli National Park. Seated near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the park is a blend of savannah plains and deep green swampland. You’ll have many opportunities to view elephants here, but there’s also lions, cheetahs, hyenas and hundreds of bird species. And don’t forget to enjoy the magnificent views of nearby Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Finally, after 13 days, 8 parks and countless animals, it’s time to head back to Nairobi.

Imagine two weeks of safari discovery! You’ll get to explore the depth and beauty of East Africa’s game parks in a manner few will ever know. There will be lots of time for viewing wildlife, soaking up the beauty of the land and connecting with the local cultures. This is a complete yet comfortably paced journey.
Over the course of this two-week adventure you’ll get to experience Kenya’s finest parks up close plus the immense sweep of Tanzania’s Serengeti. From the iconic Masai Mara to the world famous Ngorongoro volcanic crater, from Lake Naivasha to Lake Victoria, you will journey through the richest landscapes of Africa while encountering literally hundreds of species of wildlife.
Get ready to start your perfect adventure on Shalom Safaris’ biggest and most complete safari.
We start out heading north to Kenya’s Samburu National Reserve. This is a dry but scenic park and you’ll find many unusual species like Somali ostrich, oryx and reticulated giraffe stalking these rugged plains. You’ll also have the option of visiting nearby Shaba and Buffalo Springs Reserves. Shaba was the setting for the films Born Free and Out of Africa.
Now passing Mt. Kenya we travel on to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This private reserve is well known for its large population of black rhino and its chimpanzee sanctuary. But you’ll also find the big cats here as well as buffalo and other plains wildlife. Depending on your choice of lodging you’ll go on game drives or view the wildlife from your tree hotel!
You can partake in several types of safaris at our next destination, Lake Naivasha National Park. Gliding the blue lake on a water safari, you’ll sail by hippo with giraffe and zebra along the shore. At Crescent Island we’ll take a guided walking safari amongst the giraffe, zebra, impala and waterbuck. And if you choose, there’s also an optional visit and bike ride through Hells Gate National Park
Picture Africa and most likely images of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve will come to mind. Great vistas of rolling grassland accented with distinctive acacia trees and thundering herds of wildebeest announce you’ve arrived at this world-famous park. Here, the big cats roam, including lions, leopards and cheetahs.
The density and variety of wildlife here can be agreeably overwhelming with zebra, giraffe, monkey, baboon and hundreds of bird species. If you wish, join several optional activities like guided nature walks or a visit to one of the Maasai homesteads to meet and learn about these indigenous people.
We’ll also have a picnic lunch at the Mara River, site of the great migration where millions of animals cross during the season.
After all the “work” of the busy safari, cross into Tanzania and scenic Lake Victoria for a little R & R on its shore. The largest lake in Africa, Victoria hosts several fishing villages. We’ll visit one with a local guide to learn about the culture and lifestyle of the fishermen here.
Then, everybody into the 4 x 4 for a short drive to the mighty Serengeti National Park. The immense vistas here hold a wonder of wildlife – easily two million creatures await your arrival. All the big game is here stalking these savannahs – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, plus hartebeest, waterbuck, crocodile and the heart of the great migration – wildebeest.
Within the Serengeti lies one of the most unusual land formations anywhere – the Ngorongoro Crater. This huge caldera is the remains of an extinct 3 million-year-old volcano. But what’s more amazing are the wildlife treasures awaiting down on the crater floor. You will descend to this isolated world to view an awesome concentration of lion, buffalo, rhino, wildebeest, zebra, eland, gazelle and much more.
Now it’s time to cross back into Kenya as the great vista of Mt. Kilimanjaro comes into view. We’re traveling to Amboseli National Park. This is the best place in Africa to view elephants in the wild. But also, be ready to spot lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe and zebra. The rich ecosystem here with towering Kilimanjaro in the background is a perfect end for your two-week safari holiday. Now, it’s back to Nairobi.
All-Inclusive. Your Two-Week Safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations and meals. Shalom Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort, superior comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.
